A typeface to represent our modern times, full of uncertain directions and erratic faces. Based off warning signs we see every day, the type was modified and painted over by hand to simulate a fractured, uneasy state of mind.
I photographed various warning signs that are commonplace sights around our neighbourhood. They served as the basis for the type manipulation, working along the theme of paranoia and uncertainty. During the start of the project in early 2020, those themes were ingrained in everybody’s mind. I wanted my type to be an expression of those tensions.
